RTTS safety joint is an optional emergency backoff device. The safety joint releases the workstring and tools above the packer if the packer becomes stuck during operations. 
BOBAN RTTS Safety Joint is a kind of security tool. When a packer is stuck, you can use RTTS safety Joint to help raise pipe string above the safety joint and make this safety joint disengaged, exerting a pulling force to the pipe string and pulling off the pull-up set. However, you cannot release the safety Joint, you must move the pipe string up and down and maintain torque so that you can loosen the safety Joint..
To initiate the release of the safety joint, a tension sleeve must be parted by pulling on the workstring. For complete release, vertical and rotational movement must be applied.
