Drift diameter gauge is a simple and common tool for detecting the drift diameter of casing, tubing, drill pipe and other pipes. It is divided into casing drift diameter gauge and tubing drift diameter gauge.
It is a special tool for detecting the drift diameter of downhole tubular objects. It is mainly used to detect whether the drift diameter of inner holes such as casing, oil pipe and drill pipe meet the standards. It is a common detection tool for downhole operations. It is divided into two categories: casing drift diameter gauge and tubing and drill pipe drift diameter gauge.
Casing drift diameter gauge is a thin-walled cylindrical tool for detecting the drift diameter in casing, commonly known as drift diameter gauge. It is composed of joint and cylinder. The lower part of the joint is connected with the cylinder by threads, and the lower part of the cylinder can be slightly thinner. In addition, the upper and lower ends of the cylinder can be processed with connecting threads. When the operating tool lowered into the well is long, it is convenient to connect the two drift diameter gauges. The cylinder of another drift diameter gauge is an inclined plane guide body with hollow ends, which is mostly used for wiper trip of highly deviated wells or horizontal wells. The purpose of machining the lower part of the cylinder into thin wall is: when the inner diameter of the deformed casing is less than the outer diameter of the drift diameter gauge, the cylinder is easy to deform, and the deformation of the casing can be roughly understood through the deformation; It can buffer the impact force, is not easy to jam the drift diameter gauge, and is easy to pull out the drill string.
The drift diameter gauge of tubing and drill pipe is used to detect the inner diameter of tubing and drill pipe. It is generally carried out on the ground. It is also called tubing gauge and drill pipe gauge. Its shape is a long hollow cylinder. One of them has no threads at both ends, and uses steam as power to push it from one end of the tested pipe and push it out of the other end. The other type has connecting threads at both ends, which are connected with the connecting pipe to pass the pipe and remove the oil dirt in the pipe.
